Indro Hardjodikoro The Fingers

This collective starts of from Indro Hardjodikoro “Feels Free” concert at Erasmus Huis on 5th May 2010. Indro, together with his students Fajar Adi Nugroho, formed a group called Indro Hardjodikoro and The Fingers.

With this formation it allows for duo bassist, Fajar and Indro, to improvised while there’s backline bass still playing based on jazz-funk music.

This group is completed by Yesaya W.Sumantri (drums) and Andy Setiawan (keyboards).

And what makes this album more interesting is in the song “Andong” and “Rencong” has an Indonesian ethnic elements by including Kendang (Sundanese percussion).

Indro Hardjodikoro (41yrs)

who leads the band, has experienced in music industry for more than 25 years. Indro is a bass session player and a lecture who has produced many talented students in Indonesia.

Indro Hardjodikoro joined the group of Halmahera, SimakDialog, Twilight Orchestra, Erwin Gutawa Orchestra, Tohpati Ethnomission, Dwiki Dharmawan World Peace Orchestra as well as filling bass for a series of Indonesian singers such as Chrisye, 3Diva, Krisdayanti, Ruth Sahanaya and session bass player for some of international artists like Dave Koz, Eric Marienthal, George Duke, Sheila Majid, Asia Rythm Beat together Lewis Pragasm.

He has also experinced masterclass in Rythm and Groove Music Camp in Jakarta with Victor Wooten.

 

Fajar Adi Nugroho (25yrs)

started playing music instruments with guitar, at age 16 Fajar deepen Electric Bass with Indro Hardjodikoro.

In 2006 formed the band Two Arjuna. Various events have been experienced as an opening band Andra & The Backbone and Dewa 19 in Pekan Raya Jakarta, various workshops and clinics at schools in Jakarta.

Fajar won the Best Bass in JGTC Festival in 2008 and the jingle contest that is held by the brand League and won the award “Best Music Performance”, he also had the opportunity to fill rubric music clinic in the magazine “Music Corner” for several editions.

Fajar joined the Four Bass at concert event A Masterpiece of Erwin Gutawa, 2011.

 

 

Andy Setiawan (25yrs), most of his friends call him Gomez, began studying music since high school in Yogyakarta High School Musical (SMM). After graduating in 2003, He then studied piano at the Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) in Yogyakarta and graduated in 2010. Gomez has been through various experiences, such as a piano duet with Ross Carey of New Zealand, the Concert “Keroncong Light Orchestra”, led Singgih Sanjaya and back up band for several Indonesian musicians such as Syaharani, Tompi and Oele Patiselano and also international musicians such as saxophonist Ken Takenouchi (Japan) on their visit in Yogyakarta. Some of the music group has ever played with Gomez: Jurasik and Kirana Big Band, and Anane.

Yesaya W.Sumantri (21yrs), son of William Sumantri, senior guitar player, Echa short name for Yeshaya, is a young and talented drum session player. Echa since the age of 9 years has accompanied for various musical events, band and Indonesian artists, such as Idola Cilik, Trisum Band, Abdul and The Coffee Theory, Ello, Tompi, Tohpati, Erwin Gutawa, and many more.

Toembrink

Ade Rukandi or more well known as Toembrink, is a great Kendang player who has played in several events such as Malaysian Festival Wayang Nusantara, Gelar Indonesian Culture in South Africa, Festival Bamboo World Music, Festival Monju World music, Asean Jazz Festival and Asean Summit Festival.

Kendang is a sundanese percussion, a traditional music instrument from West Java – Indonesia, and Adi is one with the instrument.


Soukma

Powerful to subtle, elegant to sublime, her unique voice brings back memories of the roaring 20s, when men knew how to treat a lady and women knew how to misbehave.

She is inspired by the likes of Billy Holliday, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone and Carmen McRae. Wrapped in the music of Duke Ellington, George Gershwin and others are some of her most favorite sensations.

Soukma overwhelms on stage, despite her diminutive stature. She has been performing extensively in Indonesia and beyond participating in nationwide live television broadcasts. Soukma has performed extensively at Jazz venues, festivals and events with Trio Sukat, Three Patiseliano Brothers, Benny Likumahua, Didi Cia, Cendy Luntungan, Victor Rompas, Rio Moreno, Tjut Nyak Deviana Daudsjah, Ireng Maulana, Idang Rasjidi, Indro Hardjodikoro amongst others.
